This adventure will allow you to explore the diversity of Peru . You will journey back in time as you visit the sacred land of the Incas, only to venture on to experience the exotic beauty of the Amazon Reserve. All tours depart weekly upon arrival in Lima on a Friday.

Itinerary


Day 1 (Friday) - Lima

Upon arrival in Lima you will be transferred to your hotel. If time permits you may be able to arrange for a tour on your own of Lima’s neighborhoods and museums.

Day 2 (Saturday) - Cuzco

After breakfast in the hotel you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Cuzco. Upon arriving in Cuzco (11,152 ft.), our guide will take you to the hotel where you can spend the morning resting and acclimating to the altitude. In the afternoon you will enjoy a guided tour of Cuzco with its ancient cathedrals and amazingly crafted Inca walls. You will also visit Cuzco's nearby ruins; Kenko, Tambomachay, Puka Pukara, Saqsaywaman. (B)

Day 3 (Sunday) - Sacred Valley

This morning you will travel to the beautiful Urubamba Valley , also known as the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will visit the colorful Pisac Market. After lunch in a restaurant that will give you a wonderful taste of the area, we continue on to the town of Ollantaytambo . Here we will visit the impressive Inca fortress where the Incas fought the Spaniards. Return to Cuzco. (B, L)

Day 4 (Monday) - Machu Picchu

This morning you will be transferred to the train station where you will begin your scenic train ride to Aguas Calientes. This picturesque journey affords views of the valley, river, and often a glimpse of the awesome condor. Upon arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes , you will be taken by bus to the long awaited visit to Machu Picchu . You will enjoy a tour by one of our bilingual guides, and close out the day resting in your hotel or you may want (at an additional fee) to relax in a bath in the thermal springs. (B, L)

Day 5 (Tuesday) Cuzco

This morning you are free to return to Machu Picchu or it is a great opportunity to climb Wyna Picchu. We will return to Cusco by train in the afternoon. (B)

Day 6 (Wednesday) - Puerto Maldonado

This morning you will be transferred to the airport for a short flight to Puerto Maldonado. We begin our adventure to the amazon by first stopping at a local market where you may wish to buy snacks or crafts. We then take a 45 minute boat ride which offers a beautiful view of exotic plants and birds and cayman. After reception and lunch in the panoramic dining room and a short nap on one of the many hammocks, we take a guided tour through the reserve. That evening we go on a nighttime adventure to catch a glimpse of cayman or the Capybana, as we learn to interpret the sounds of the forest. (B, L, D)

Day 7 (Thursday) - Puerto Maldonado

After a tropical buffet breakfast we take a walk to enjoy the fauna and flora. This is followed by a boat ride through the canals which offers a wonderful view of Lake Sandoval. Later we will visit the Fitzcarrald Forrest and Rolin Island . The late afternoon is an excellent time to take photographs. (B, L, D)

Day 8 (Friday) - Puerto Maldonado - Lima

On this the morning of your third day at the reserve, you will enjoy a tropical buffet breakfast. After which you will be transferred for your flight to Lima . (B)

The above land package price is for groups of 2 or more and includes:

All hotel accommodations (double occupancy). Additional fees $210 per passenger apply for single occupancy. Meals as indicated in the itinerary (B, L, D). All sightseeing as shown as part of an open group (private tours available). Services of local professional guides. Cuzco/Machu Picchu train ticket. Airport transfers. All gratuities except to guides.

Not included: personal expenses such as beverages; lunch (unless in the itinerary), dinner, laundry; travel insurance; excess baggage fees; communication charges; international or domestic airfares; airport departure taxes, cost of obtaining passports or visas; gratuities to guides.
